© Claudia's Cookbook - 7 Layers in Heaven Bar 13It’s been a while since Claudia and I actually sat down to bake together, which is fairly contradictory to my actual goal of this blog. Therefore, we made it our mission to set some time aside and get our bake on this past weekend. We also had Christmas movies on in the background. I was slightly appalled that they are already showing these movies on TV and it’s not even Remembrance Day. But not appalled enough to ignore them. You try to turn off Will Ferrell in Elf. I dare you. It’s harder than you think.

Claudia and I have had a list of recipes we’ve been meaning to feature on the blog for quite some time now. These bars are one of them. They are seriously heavenly. The condensed milk gives it a nice richness. The coconut, butterscotch and chocolate chips make these bars sweet and gooey. And the walnuts give them a nice crunch and texture. These bars are so simple and easy, and perfect for the holidays!

I could just scoop and eat this up as is.

But we are not done yet!

Finally add your crushed walnuts in an even layer.

Bake in a 350 degree fahrenheit oven for 20 minutes.

You do not want to over bake this bar, so watch it carefully so it doesn’t get too browned.

Cool in the pan completely before slicing and serving.
